Outdoor stone has two jobs: look like the inside of your house, and survive an Illinois February. Granite and porcelain do both — porcelain in particular will not fade in direct summer sun.

Questions

Before you start

Will an outdoor countertop survive a Chicago winter?

Granite and porcelain handle freeze–thaw cycles well when installed with proper support and drainage. We will steer you away from materials that do not.

Does sunlight fade outdoor stone?

Natural stone holds up well; porcelain is UV-stable by design. Some engineered quartz is not recommended for direct sun, and we will tell you which is which.
